Houston County Interfaith Long-Term Recovery Organization (HCILTRO) is incorporated as a Minnesota nonprofit organization and has filed for section 501c3 tax-exempt status from the Internal Revenue Service. HCILTRO was formed to establish and maintain a network within and on behalf of the faith communities and secular agencies, which will provide a coordinated response to major disasters that occur within Houston County.

IMPORTANT VOLUNTEER/DONATION INFORMATION

 

 

·         In Rushford, clean-up volunteers should be wearing identifying wrist bracelets. Call 2-1-1 (land line) or 800-543-7709 (cell phone) or go to www.uwolmsted.org to register to volunteer.
 

·         The city of Rushford is asking for donations to help with flood cleanup. Among the needs are power washers, wheel barrows, crow bars, sledge hammers, screw drivers, hammers, hack saws, buckets, wrenches, mops, bleach, dehumidifiers and gallon jugs of water.

 

Items should not be brought to Rushford. Contact Lolly Melander at (507) 251-6699 before coming to the area to arrange delivery.

  • Possible Cost to build new sewage plant depending on level of damage: $7.2 Million

  • Damage to businesses and homes: $55.5 Million not including personal property)

  • Homes in the city damaged by flood: 490

  • Designated uninhabitable: 79

This damage estimate does not include the rural areas, Houston, Hokah, or Brownsville. Also, it does not include the infrastructure.
