Unmet Needs Update (April, 2008)

The numbers below represent replacement of the house only -- caseworkers use the term "shell" because it is strictly shelter.  Also, these estimates represent homeowner losses only, and do not take into consideration the massive land/crop/feed/fence replacement that will be needed later this spring.

Rushford

  • 125 cases representing more than $3.7 million in unmet needs
  • Unmet need per household is just under $30,000
  • Case managers are now completing assessments on an additional 131 cases.
  • If the average holds, the final estimate for unmet needs in Rushford will be in excess of $7.6 million.

Houston County

  • An additional 45 cases
  • Represents approximately $1.5 million in unmet need
